Gulf Coast Zoo
The Gulf Coast Zoo in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is home to more than 600 animals, 199 species, and 8 endangered species. Covering 7.5 acres, the Gulf Coast Zoo has been named the No. 1 Zoo in Alabama for two years and was featured on Animal Planet’s documentary series ‘The Little Zoo That Could.’
The zoo opened in 1989 and it remains a center for wildlife conservation and education. Visit Madagascar lemurs, black leopards, dromedary camels, Bengal tigers, and many more. There is also a petting zoo where you can pet and feed the animals.
