Historic Fort Gaines
Located on Dauphin Island, Fort Gaines is known for its role in the Battle of Mobile Bay during the American Civil War and was established in 1821. The site was named one of the 11 Most Endangered Historic Site in America. Comprised of five buildings within the exterior walls and tunnel systems, Fort Gaines is an extensive network of past life.
